Services
Services with Chabad of the Shore are designed to make everyone feel welcome and at home. The prayers, conducted with Hebrew/English prayer-books, are lively, engaging and inclusive – spiced with inspiring tunes and insightful explanations throughout – allowing all to absorb the experience at their own level.
Whether you consider yourself Reform or Conservative, Orthodox or unaffiliated, Sefardi or Ashkenazi, well-versed or unversed; at Chabad, the labels and classifications fall away – as all stand equally beloved before G‑d. Sermons and announcements likewise speak to all participants, and are always topical, relevant, stimulating and enlightening.
OUTDOOR & INDOOR SERVICES
ROSH HASHANAH/YOM KIPPUR SERVICES – SAFE, AND SHORT
Chabad will be offering in-person OUTDOOR & INDOOR High Holiday Services at the NEW Chabad Center in Long Branch. Held under a canopy for shade or indoors, these will be abbreviated services consisting of select pivotal prayers, the Torah reading, the sounding of the Shofar on the 2nd day of Rosh Hashanah, and the recital of Yizkor on Yom Kippur.
The following pointers are critical with regard to these services:
We will be adhering to all NJ health guidelines for maximum safety and precaution.
This includes socially-distant seating and the wearing of masks.
There is a 150-person attendance limit for each service indoors. As such, to accommodate the maximum number of participants, we will be holding the aforementioned abbreviated services several times throughout the day.
In keeping with Chabad’s welcoming policy, we’ve always provided ample seating for reserved and walk-in participants alike. Unfortunately, given the circumstances this year, all attendance must be by RESERVATION ONLY, as this is the only way we can follow the guidelines and keep each service within the 150-person indoors limit. We sincerely apologize but we must insist that only those with prior reservations attend.
(As noted on the rsvp form, reservations will be accepted for those requesting flexibility with regard to the suggested per-seat donation.)
Early reservations are strongly encouraged. Once a service time-slot is completely reserved, attendees may only select from the remaining available services. We do anticipate that all slots, of all services, will be booked, so the earlier you make your reservations, the more time options will be available to you.
